Site “Bojana” is located at the area of the Upper Golubac gorge between Golubac fortress and Jelenske stene, which is near the site Livadice in the Municipality of Golubac.
The protected area consists of pure walnut stand (Parietario-Juglandetum Jov. 68), which is surrounded by high, mixed stands of beech and walnut (Fagetum submontanum juglandetosum, Mišić 1967). In addition, at the entire area there are groups or individual specimen of Turkish hazel (Corylus colurna), Montpellier maple (Acer monspessulanum), flowering ash (Fraxinus ornus), Oriental hornbeam (Carpinus orientalis) and common hornbeam (Carpinus betulus). On the limestones of sandbank type there is a developed and complex vegetation consisting of mesophilic communities with beech (Fagus moesiaca), maple (Acer sp.), common hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) and other species including the communities of pubescent oak (Quercus pubescens) and lilac (Syringa vulgaris).
