It’s 18 km long and starts if you are moving in the direction of Donji Milanovac near the town of Kožica (intersection R2340), and ends at the intersection (R2370) for the settlement of Boljetin on the Djerdap highway.

Following the construction of the Djerdap highway, on which tunnels and bridges alternate, the former part of the main asphalt road connecting Kladovo and Donji Milanovac with Golubac and Belgrade is practically without traffic, making this route perfect for cyclists.

Kožica–Boljetin river canyon
Starting at about 90 m above sea level, this route is on a constant climb as it leads through a beech and oak forest. The highest point is 510 m, about 11 km from the route’s beginning, followed by a slight descent.
Part of the EuroVelo 6 route
Along the route, captivating landscapes of mountains, pastures and meadows alternate, while strategically placed information boards point out especially interesting details. Along with information boards, there are also signposts for easier orientation.
The Kožica – Boljetin river canyon cycling route is also the detur no. 12 of EuroVelo 6. The EuroVelo 6 route connects the Atlantic coast with the Black Sea, and the part that follows the Danube is called the Danube Cycling Route (DCR, Donauradweg). It follows the river’s course from Budapest to its mouth. The part of route 6 that follows the river through Serbia is 667 kilometers long.
The entire Danube cycling route in Serbia is marked with signposts, in accordance with the standards of the European cycling federation. The Danube cycling route through Djerdap National park is about 110 km in length (the main route along the Danube).
