The 51st Meeting of the Council of the Coordinating Board of the European Geoparks Network was held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris from March 5 to 6, 2025. The meeting was attended by representatives of 109 geoparks from 28 countries, including official representatives of the UNESCO World Geopark Đerdap. The meeting was attended by members of the Executive Committee of the World Geoparks Network (GGN) on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the International Science and Geoparks Program. The hosts and representatives of the coordination board of EGN welcomed the participants, and the president of GGN addressed the participants. In addition to the discussion of regular reports on activities from the past year and plans for further work and development of geoparks, EGN representatives had the opportunity to participate in an interactive workshop on climate change. Representatives of the UNESCO World Geopark Đerdap actively participated in the workshop, emphasizing the importance of preserving geological and natural values in the fight against climate change and its impact. The goal was to exchange ideas, experiences and to strengthen cooperation with other UNESCO cheetah parks.
