The 47th Coordination Committee Meeting of the European Geopark Network (EGN) was held in the UNESCO World Geopark Hateg in Romania from 27th to 30th March 2023 years. The meeting was attended by representatives of 94 geoparks from 28 countries, including representatives of UNESCO World Geopark Djerdap. The meeting was opened by deputy coordinator of the EGN, while the hosts of the Geopark Hateg and their local government extended a welcome. In addition to regular reports on activities and plans for further work and development of geoparks by the official delegates and presidents of the Global Geoparks Network (GGN), representatives of the European Geoparks Network had the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops where the partners of Geopark Hateg presented activities and projects on which they work with. The goal was to exchange ideas, experiences and business strategies, as well as to learn from each other how to be territories of sustainable development. The exceptionally good organization of the meeting was contributed by the work of Geopark Hateg volunteers, who organized a one-day excursion with a different thematic structure for all representatives for the final day of the meeting.
