The International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, October 13, has been celebrated since 1989, when the United Nations General Assembly decided to promote a global culture of awareness of risk and disaster reduction. The manager of Geopark Đerdap, JP “National Park Đerdap” celebrates this important day today, reminding that part of the responsibility for safety and reducing the risk of disasters lies with the institutions but also with every member of society. This is why this 2022 International Day is focused on the following goal: “Significantly increase availability and access to multi-hazard early warning systems and disaster risk information and assessments for people by 2030.”
